it might make people think

of  hope and love and fun and happiness

all cheerful

but not mellow

bananas are yellow

and bananas can be funny

lemons are yellow

and lemons are sour

but not mellow

if  your mood ring

turns yellow

it means you’re imaginative

a good thing to be

but not mellow

and the symbol

also meant precious or ripe

flashing

angrily

when in her heart

it’s pain she feels

rejection

betrayal

“not good enough”

else why       ….why….

would he look to another?

desperation

knowing

she will lose him

if  she ever

lets go
