i recognized him as a fallen angel
from the singed tips
of his still smoking wings,
a broken halo
lying on the ground
::: ::: ::: ::: :::
the angel turned his head
and i could see the anguish in his eyes
no need for words to be spoken
nothing i could do to help
his banishment was final
::: ::: ::: ::: :::
ah, my love, my fallen angel
i wish that i could heal
your wounded heart
what sin did you commit, i wonder
to be exiled from heaven?

thank you so much for the kindness of your comment. it is such a wonderful compliment to feel that the imagery came across.
I don’t know if you can comfort someone who’s completely separated from God. Interesting piece.
thank you for your comment. i agree. there would be no comfort.
Love the crash landing in the opening stanza. Poor angel. At least he has you!

A great question to ponder at the end after describing such a fall and crash. With anguished eyes, something big time went wrong. Well done!
